Defending Scudetto holders Inter Milan have endured an injury-hit start to their title-defending Serie A campaign.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, head coach Simone Inzaghi has already had to cope with ten injury setbacks.

Though we’re still in November, Inter have already been dealt with numerous high-profile injury scares.

For starters, Tajon Buchanan succumbed to a broken leg during the summer’s Copa America.

Indeed, the Canada international only recently returned to the fold.

However, he has yet to make his first appearance for the Nerazzurri this season.

The list goes on.

Piotr Zielinski, who joined Inter from Napoli as a free agent in June, has struggled with physical problems.

But after missing a large chunk of the early season due to a lack of match fitness, he’s finally 100% fit.

The same goes for Stefan de Vrij.

Like Zielinski, the Dutch defender was a victim of a muscle strain, but he’s fine now.

In addition to the abovementioned first-team stars, Inter were briefly without Lautaro Martinez.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri captain had to skip a 1-1 draw against Monza in September due to fatigue.

That’s not to mention Inzaghi lost Nicolo Barella for a month.

Barella picked up an ankle problem in September’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.

Just as he recovered, Inter suffered another significant blow in the midfield.

Hakan Calhanoglu had to come off after only 12 minutes in a 1-0 triumph at Roma on October 20.

Despite returning to the squad after a fortnight, he’s now staring down the barrel of another stint in the treatment room.

Indeed, he renewed his thigh issue while on international duty with Turkey.

Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi also required an early substitution against Roma.

Luckily for Inzaghi, he has since stayed away from the infirmary.

Kristjan Asllani, who could deputize for Calhanoglu against Hellas Verona, has also struggled to maintain his fitness this term.

Finally, Carlos Augusto is on the verge of recovery after missing out on the last five games with a muscular problem.
