Report: Schick open to leaving Leverkusen in January

Despite his recent goals for Bayer Leverkusen, Patrik Schick is reportedly open to leaving the club - possibly as early as January if the right offer comes along.

With Victor Boniface currently out with a thigh injury, Schick has a golden opportunity to prove he deserves more game time. His hat-trick in Leverkusen's 5-2 win over Heidenheim on Saturday was certainly a good way of showing what he's capable of.

Something surely has to change for Schick, with Sky Germany reporting he isn't happy playing second fiddle to Victor Boniface and has told the club he wants to be the first-choice striker even when the Nigeria international is fit.

He toyed with the idea of leaving in the summer, but despite interest from the likes of AC Milan and Besiktas, he ultimately stayed put.

According to Sky Germany, the Czech international is open to the idea of leaving in January if he receives the right offer from a top club, with sides from England and Italy, including Juventus, monitoring his situation.

From Leverkusen's point of view, however, selling Schick in the winter isn't an option, as he is seen as an important part of the squad due to Victor Boniface's frequent injuries. That's why the German champions would only consider a "top, top, top offer" in January, with a summer transfer more likely.
