Manchester United minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly set a deadline for Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag to turn his side’s form around and improve results on the pitch.

It has been a poor start to the season for Manchester United who only have seven points out of 15 available.

The Red Devils have looked promising at times with an impressive 3-0 at Saint Mary’s vs Southampton but that was not without defensive concerns in the opening 25 minutes.

Ten Hag’s side looked more dominant last time out in the Premier League when they faced Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend.

However, despite several chances being created, the Red Devils could not break the deadlock and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The former Ajax boss’ side also had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their opening Europa League fixture against FC Twente at Old Trafford midweek.

The 56-year-old coach will be hoping his side can set the tone for the coming fixtures when they face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe sets Ten Hag Christmas deadline to save his Old Trafford career

Pressure has started to mount on the United boss after a poor start to the season.

Ratcliffe has reportedly started to demand an improvement on the pitch with a deadline reportedly set for the Dutch coach to improve results.

Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Ratcliffe has given Ten Hag until Christmas to save his job.

Speaking on Ten Hag’s future O’Rourke said:  “Man United are expected to sack Erik ten Hag “by Christmas” if he does not oversee a big turnaround in the team’s fortunes

“Should United find themselves slipping away from the top-four race at Christmas, a decision will have to be made.

“Sources also say the decision-makers at Old Trafford are keen to give him time, having handed him a new contract in the summer.”
