Norwich City have rejected Celtic’s opening offer for Adam Idah. The Scottish Champions launched a £4m bid for the Irish Internationalist earlier today but the bid appears to have already been knocked back.
According to Football Scotland, Celtic made the offer of £4m with add-ons attached but the Championship side have made it clear that they won’t sell him unless they get a good price.
Norwich appear willing to do a deal if an appropriate offer comes in for the striker but, as of yet, Celtic haven’t matched this. The report does say, however, that Norwich have not stated a figure that they would allow the player to leave for as they would rather Johannes Hoff Thorup assessed him during pre-season.
Celtic know what Idah can bring to the team and will likely be preparing another offer. It is clear that the manager wants a deal to be done and the player’s social media account seems to suggest he is favourable about a return, too.
Hopefully Celtic can get a bid together in the next few days that will tempt Norwich into entering serious discussions about a deal rather than simply rejecting their offer. Idah has a long contract but would rather play Champions League football than turning out for a toiling side in the Championship.
