Liverpool have still not made any new signing in the January transfer window and only two weeks are left for the window to shut down.

The Reds had a quiet summer transfer window in which only Federico Chiesa arrived at the club.

They hope to strengthen the squad this month but nothing have materialised so far.

After their brilliant form in the Premier League and the Champions League, in which they are leading at this stage, a couple of signings could give them edge in the second half of the season to win silverware.

The Premier League leaders have been linked with a move for Lyon star Rayan Cherki and now they have received a major boost to sign the player in a bargain move this month.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, is available for just £19m in January, according to Sky Germany.

The France international player has verbal agreement with Lyon to leave the club this month.

No offer has been made for the player from Liverpool or any other club but that could change soon after clubs find out his price tag.

Liverpool are interested in Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.

It is up to Liverpool now to show intent in the market and make a move for the player who can provide depth to their squad and offer them another attacking threat as well as creativity.
