Report – Inter Milan Contact RB Leipzig Over Netherlands Star Forward | OneFootball

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio is in direct contact with the agents of RB Leipzig starlet Xavi Simons.

According to TMW via FCInter1908, talks are ongoing as the Italians view the Dutchman as a potential target.

Despite these talks, Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman remains the club’s highest priority.

Indeed, Inter will only turn to other options if they fail to sign the 27-year-old Nigerian.

However, Ausilio likes to keep an open mind.

After Lois Openda, Inter have taken an interest in another Leipzig star.

Yet, Xavi Simons would be a far more lucrative investment, considering he is only 22 and has a host of admirers.

That will not discourage Inter. And neither will the interest from several Premier League clubs.

On the other hand, Leipzig may even consider offers for the Barcelona academy graduate.

Indeed, with Simons’ contract expiring in 2027, the Germans believe they could get a maximum price this summer.

While the figures remain unknown, it’s hard to expect Simons to cost less than Lookman.
