Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has reportedly sparked a transfer interest from the Championship club Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old has come through the Reds’ academy, earning his competitive debut in 2021 against Norwich City.

Liverpool sent him on loan to Blackburn Rovers for the 2024-25 campaign, where he made 40 Championship appearances.

Morton also spent last season on loan at Hull City, notching three goals and five assists in 39 league appearances.

The Merseyside giants kept him at Anfield this summer, but he has made only two Carabao Cup appearances under Arne Slot.

According to The Sun, Sheffield United are considering a loan move for Morton in the January transfer window.

The Blades need a short-term solution after losing Oliver Arblaster to a long-term injury, with doubt over whether he will play again this season.

They have been looking at foreign targets too but would need to make sales to complete such moves.

Morton has been struggling for game time under Slot this season. He is young and talented, but there is huge competition for places in the first-team.

The Dutch boss has justified his selection, as Liverpool are currently dominating in the Premier League as well as the Champions League.

The midfielder’s first-team prospects don’t look great at the moment, and another temporary exit makes sense.

At this stage of his career, it is crucial to play regular football, and a move to the Championship could help him get that.
