Report: Chelsea prepared to offer £50m for Premier League ace wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal | OneFootball

Chelsea are exploring a deal for Brighton forward Joao Pedro and held a meeting on Tuesday about a potential deal according to reports.

The Blues are once again set for another busy summer with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed winger to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea face a critical window and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players, with a number of squad members surplus to requirements.

Chelsea explore Joao Pedro deal

A striker is the main priority for the Blues and they’ve paid the price for failing to sign an alternative to Nicolas Jackson both last summer and in January.

Chelsea have been most strongly linked with Liam Delap, but face competition from both Manchester United and Newcastle, whilst there’s also said to be interest in Hugo Ekitike.

It’s been reported the Blues are one of several clubs interested in Brighton forward Pedro and Mail Sport have provided an update.

They report Chelsea are exploring a move for the 23-year-old and held a meeting on Tuesday over a potential move.

Mail Sport add the Blues would be prepared to offer around £50m for the Brazil international, with the possibility of players being offered as part of the deal, possibly on loan.

The Brazil international has scored ten goals and registered six assists in 27 league appearances, and joined Brighton from Watford for £30m in the summer of 2023.

Sesko and Ekitike targets

Chelsea have a number of names of their striker shortlist, and it’s vital they sign a proven goalscorer to improve the first team and provide competition for Jackson.

The Blues have strong interest in Delap, but if they were to miss out on the 22-year-old, they also have interest in Bundesliga duo Benjamin Sesko and Ekitike.

Sesko is said to have an €80m release clause in his contract, and the 21-year-old has scored 21 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions this season.

Eintracht Frankfurt are said to want as much as €100m for Ekitike, who’s scored 22 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions this season , and it will be interesting to see who Chelsea decide to go for.
