Chelsea are one the clubs interested in signing Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma according to reports in France.

The Blues are currently preparing to take on Donnarumma and PSG in the Club World Cup final in New York on Sunday, and have been busy this summer.

Chelsea have made three attacking signings in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, whilst a new goalkeeper arriving can’t be fully ruled out.

Chelsea interested in Donnarumma

Chelsea had the opportunity to sign Mike Maignan earlier this summer, but weren’t prepared to meet AC Milan’s asking price.

It’s unlikely the Blues will return for the France international, whilst the club have already sold two keepers with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Djordje Petrovic joining Arsenal and Bournemouth respectively.

As things stand it looks like Robert Sanchez will once again be number one next season, which won’t please supporters.

However, L’Equipe have reported the Blues are one of the clubs interested in Donnarumma, who’s out of contract with PSG at the end of next season.

The report states Manchester City and Manchester United are also interested, with the Italy international’s future set to be decided after the Club World Cup, although it’s expected he will remain with the French giants.

Donnarumma has been a key player for PSG this season with the Ligue 1 outfit looking to add the Club World Cup to the treble they’ve already won.

Mike Penders viewed as special

Whilst Chelsea are deciding whether they need to sign a new number one this summer, they have high hopes for teenager Mike Penders.

Chelsea reportedly believe Penders is special, and they appear to view the 19-year-old as their long term number one.

The Belgian is set to join Strasbourg on a season long loan, which will give him experience in Europe and a top five league, and depending how he does he could feature for Chelsea in the 2026/2027 campaign.
