Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has suffered a calf injury in training amid strong transfer links to Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been the subject of intense transfer speculation recently.

It has long seemed clear that the Nigerian would leave the Gewiss Arena this summer.

And over the last few days, Inter Milan have emerged as the clear frontrunners to sign Lookman.

Reportedly, Inter Milan made their opening offer to Atalanta for Ademola Lookman yesterday.

La Dea rejected the bid. However, the talks between the clubs have now begun in earnest.

In the meantime, though, Lookman has also returned to training with the rest of his Atalanta teammates.

And some discouraging news has come out from the 27-year-old return to training.

The Gazzetta report that Lookman suffered a calf injury while kicking a ball in training.

It remains to be seen how serious the injury is for the former RB Leipzig forward. However, he should undergo medical tests today.

Therefore, it is not yet clear how this injury could affect Lookman’s prospective transfer to Inter if at all.
