Midfielder Andy Diouf signing for Inter Milan looks like a confirmation of a radical change in the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategy.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, suggest that the Nerazzurri have sent the clearest sign yet that they are now focusing on young players.
Inter have made their major midfield signing. Yesterday they agreed a deal with Lens for midfielder Andy Diouf, who will undergo his medicals today.
Reportedly, the total value of that deal is around €25 million with add-ons.
Therefore, Diouf becomes Inter’s fourth signing of the summer. He follows Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, and Ange-Yoan Bonny.

In the past few years, Inter have made the most out of signing players with experience.
The Nerazzurri have brought in players like Edin Dzeko, Francesco Acerbi, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. These have been the foundation for recent successes.
However, this summer Inter have not signed any players over thirty years of age.
And in fact, every player to have arrived at the Nerazzurri this summer has been under 25.
Diouf is 22. He joins 23-year-old Henrique and 21-year-olds Sucic and Bonny. Meanwhile, striker Francesco Pio Esposito has become a part of the Inter first team setup the same summer he turned twenty.
Therefore, it is clear now that Inter have a specific age profile they want in their squad.
