Barcelona face a challenging situation with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor as both players continue their training routines but remain unregistered for official matches.

It has now been five days since their registration issues began, and the matter took a serious turn on Saturday when LaLiga and the RFEF jointly announced that the players could not be registered.

Now, according to MARCA, the club now face just 48 more critical hours to find a resolution. Unfortunately, due to the Three Kings’ Day holiday, the club cannot present their documentation to the CSD until Tuesday, which would be the next working day.

Olmo and Victor still cannot play

Despite the administrative delays, both players are expected to travel with the team to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.

However, their participation in the competition remains uncertain. Barcelona is set to face Athletic Club on Wednesday, and should they advance, the final will take place on Sunday.

A rapid decision from the CSD could allow the players to participate in the semi-final, but the tight deadlines make this far from guaranteed.

Interestingly, despite everything Barcelona have done, LaLiga and the RFEF have based their refusal on Article 130.2, which prevents players whose licenses have been cancelled from obtaining a new one with the same club during the season.

So what next?

Now, if the CSD does not rule in Barcelona’s favour, the club may have to turn to ordinary courts as a last resort.

This is a scenario the Blaugrana hope to avoid, as they remain optimistic about a favourable outcome.

Club president Joan Laporta is confident that the High Council of Sports will grant the precautionary measure, allowing both players to be registered and eligible for competition.

The situation highlights the ongoing challenges Barcelona faces in navigating regulatory hurdles, with the fate of Olmo and Victor hanging in the balance as the team prepares for an important week ahead.
