According to a report from SPORT, Real Madrid midfielder Nico Paz is determined to seek opportunities elsewhere this summer.

Despite showcasing his skills in the Champions League and impressing Carlo Ancelotti, Nico feels the time has come to move on from Castilla.

At just 19 years old, he believes his chances of breaking into Real Madrid’s first team are slim, especially with the club’s recent signings and existing squad dynamics.

His decision stems from a desire to continue his development at a higher level. With a contract extending to 2027, Real Madrid prefer a loan deal with a potential return clause rather than a permanent transfer, reflecting their belief in his long-term potential valued at €10 million.

However, they will consider a transfer if an appropriate offer matches his stature and he expresses a desire to move.

Why is Nico leaving?

The Argentine midfielder faces stiff competition within Real Madrid’s ranks, particularly with the recent arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

Players like Arda Guler and Brahim are also ahead of him, making his path to regular first-team football increasingly challenging.

Ancelotti’s preferences for strengthening the squad further underline the limited opportunities available for him, prompting his decision to seek playing time elsewhere to avoid stagnation.

There is interest in Nico

Interestingly, several clubs have expressed interest in the player, but Leganes, newly promoted to Spain’s Second Division, appears to be a potential destination.

Meanwhile, clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Benfica have also inquired about Nico, indicating his appeal beyond Spain’s borders.

In anticipation of his next career move, he recently switched agents to DC Global, led by Lisandro Pirosanto, highlighting his proactive approach to shaping his future.

As Nico looks ahead to the coming season, his priority remains to find a club where he can play a pivotal role and continue his upward trajectory in professional football.

With his talent and potential recognized across Europe, Nico’s next move will undoubtedly be closely watched as he seeks to make his mark beyond Real Madrid’s academy.
