Real Madrid are one step away from closing the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold in what would be a groundbreaking transfer in the world of football.
That, however, is not where Florentino Perez draws the line for the upcoming season as he reportedly has several other high-profile players on his radar.
Martin Zubimendi, in recent days, has emerged as a top midfield target for the Merengues while Dean Huijsen is widely seen as their highest-placed centre-back target.
Speaking to the media via Fabrizio Romano earlier this week, the Spanish phenom was asked to comment on Real Madrid’s interest in his signing and how he has impressed the offices at the Valdebebas.
“Real Madrid? It’s an honour when such a big club is interested in me,” he said, acknowledging that he was pleased with the development.

Given the team’s struggles at centre-back this season and the need for a young profile to complete their long-term plans, it is highly likely that Real Madrid splash the cash on a young defender next summer.
Having missed out on Leny Yoro last year, moreover, they will likely not look to cut the costs a lot and may well dish out what is asked for the young Spaniard.
Huijsen’s current contract with Bournemouth runs until the summer of 2030 and signing him will undoubtedly be challenging given how his contractual terms leave his current employers under little pressure.
What will prove decisive, thus, is the youngster’s £50 million release clause that Los Blancos hope to pay off.
Chelsea are the most potent competition Real Madrid must fend off if they are to sign Huijsen, especially with the Premier League side willing to offer him a higher salary than Los Blancos.
