According to a report from Jose Maria Lopez in AS, it is learned that Sevilla are making a strong push to secure the future of Juanlu Sanchez amid growing interest from Real Madrid.
The journalist suggests that the club is preparing to offer the promising full-back a new contract that would run until 2029, significantly increasing his release clause from €20 million to €40 million.
Negotiations between Sevilla and Juanlu’s representatives are still ongoing, with both sides maintaining a positive relationship.
However, despite the optimistic outlook, no official agreement has been signed yet. With Juanlu’s current contract set to expire in June 2026, Sevilla are aware that time is not on their side.

Given their ongoing financial difficulties, Sevilla are keen to tie him down to a long-term deal while also raising his buyout clause to maximise potential transfer revenue.
Their plan is clear—either secure him as a long-term asset or ensure that any departure brings a substantial financial boost.
Juanlu himself has a crucial decision to make. He is tempted by the prospect of becoming a cornerstone of the team and potentially inheriting Jesus Navas’ number 16 shirt, along with a leadership role in the squad.
However, interest from top clubs has only intensified, especially during the recent transfer window.
One of the teams keeping a close eye on the young defender is Real Madrid. The club is assessing its right-back options, as Dani Carvajal remains sidelined with a serious injury, while Lucas Vazquez, despite his reliability, is well into his 30s.
At the moment, Madrid’s priority is Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, if they fail to land the England international, Juanlu could quickly become their next major target.
