Real Madrid star’s expected departure collapses at the last minute | OneFootball

Major news surrounding the transfer plans of La Liga giants Real Madrid has come to the fore on Wednesday.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that Dani Ceballos’ expected move to France with Olympique Marseille has fallen through at the last minute.

The name of midfielder Ceballos has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 24 hours.

As much comes after word was forthcoming that the former Arsenal man had given the green light to a move to Marseille.

Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear between the three parties, with a view to a loan deal featuring an obligation to buy.

Just when it appeared as though the transfer was imminent, however, Ceballos himself has pulled the plug.

As per a report from Spanish transfer expert Matteo Moretto:

‘The negotiations for Dani Ceballos to Marseille have broken down. After Real Madrid and Marseille had reached a total agreement that morning for his transfer, the player decided to back out and reject the offer from the French club. Dani Ceballos had accepted the destination and said yes to Marseille, but before the signatures, he decided to change his mind.’
