Federico Valverde proved his commitment to the cause at Real Madrid once more on a pair of occasions over the last week.

That’s according to Rubén Martín of Diario AS, who has provided an insight into the situation.

Uruguayan international Valverde featured from the off in each of Real Madrid’s last two outings, first against Barcelona last weekend, and then Mallorca on Wednesday.

As alluded to above, though, in the process, the 26-year-old was forced to play through the pain.

Valverde, it is claimed, made it known to the Blancos coaching staff that he was suffering with discomfort at half-time in Sunday’s El Clásico.

The versatile midfielder, though, refused to be withdrawn, playing through the 2nd-half before being left ‘really hurt’ following the full-time whistle in Catalunya.

Still not recovered, Valverde then saw out the full 90 minutes once again on Wednesday, as Real Madrid played host to RCD Mallorca.

Another testament to the South American’s unrelenting commitment to the Blancos jersey.
