Real Madrid star named Champions League Player of the Week | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Friday been named the Champions League Player of the Week.

The player in question? Vinícius Jr.

Wide-man Vinícius of course proved himself the star of the show, in Real’s return to action on the continent earlier this week.

After making the trip to Germany for the first leg of the club’s Champions League semi-final showdown with Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops ultimately emerged with a hard-fought share of the spoils.

And that man Vinícius notched both of his side’s goals, amid another stellar performance on the grandest stage.

The Brazilian, in turn, was on Thursday named as one of two nominees for the official UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award, alongside Borussia Dortmund stalwart Mats Hummels.
