As per reports in Spanish media, in particular those from Madrid like Marca, Real Madrid are looking to bring back Nico Paz. The Argentine was the best young player in Italy this term. He has provided 6 goals and 8 assists this season from an attacking midfield role for Como. The youngster signed for them last summer and has left a terrific impact as the club finished mid-table in their first season in the top division. The 20 year old came through Real Madrid’s famed La Fabrica academy. He was already touted for big things at the club but moved to Como last summer when it became clear that a pathway at the Bernabeu would be difficult to come by. However since impressing at Como, this pathway seems to have reopened. Real Madrid had inserted an €8m buyback clause in his Como contract and it looks like they will exercise it. Xabi Alonso loves using an attacking midfielder in a free role like Florian Wirtz at Leverkusen and Paz could be his guy. However Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler will also be vying for the same position. A plausible option for Real is to buy him back, test him out in the Club World Cup and pre-season and then depending on performance and need, either keep him or sell him for a bigger fee.Kaulik Mitra | GIFN
