Although Real Madrid failed to kickstart their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in the way they would have desired, their participation in the competition is acting as a major economic lever for the club.

Real Madrid are indeed expected to earn a fortune thanks to their participation in the Club World Cup. But apart from this tournament, the club are expected to earn an additional income, starting at the end of the month.

Real Madrid’s €14 million economic boost

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are set to earn a significant sum through membership fees, which are expected to be paid starting from June 30.

The date indeed marks the annual renewal of membership for the 2025/26 season.

As shared in the club’s General Assembly last November, Real Madrid currently boasts 96,512 members globally.

Out of this total, 74,937 are adults and 19,675 are minors. The average member age stands at just over 41.

This year, adult members are charged €179, which on its own will bring in around €13.4 million. For minors, the fee is €61.50, which contributes another €1.2 million approximately.

A third category – the reduced fee, which is €89.78 – is applicable to members with over 50 years of affiliation or under 11 years old.

In total, factoring in exemptions and fee categories, Real Madrid is expected to earn roughly €14 million from membership fees alone at the end of this month.

An economic boost of €14 million could go some way in helping Real Madrid balance their books, given they have spent big on signings this summer and intend to do so further.

It is no secret that the club are keen on signing a left-back, with Alejandro Grimaldo emerging as the latest target, in the wake of complexities in the deal to sign Alvaro Carreras.
