Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as one of the top targets for Real Madrid, as they look to strengthen the squad further in the summer of 2025.
Many believe Alexander-Arnold could an answer to Real Madrid’s right-back position, especially with Dani Carvajal currently in the final phase of his career.
Although Real Madrid are studying several options on the table, Alexander-Arnold could be of particular interest due to his contract situation at Liverpool.
The Englishman’s current deal at Anfield expires at the end of the season, meaning he could become a free transfer in the summer of 2025.
To that end, a recent report from SPORT suggests Real Madrid may get a free hand at signing Alexander-Arnold for free next summer, as the player has rejected Liverpool.

It appears the Englishman is not too keen on prolonging his stay at Anfield, especially following the exit of Jurgen Klopp.
The right-back has already rejected a contract offer from Liverpool and is willing to run down his contract at Anfield. This would make him a free agent, thus allowing Real Madrid to try and secure a pre-contract agreement in January.
Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes is not willing to give up just yet. But it must be noted that the Reds have other matters to attend to.
Apart from Alexander-Arnold, the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also in the final year of their contracts, meaning Liverpool have their task cut out if they are to avoid seeing all three players leaving for free in 2025.
Real Madrid have been in constant contact with the player and his agent, and the coming few months could prove to be pivotal as the reigning European champions look to convince the Englishman to make the jump to the Spanish capital.
