Real Madrid are slowly, but surely, returning to their best on the field.

Their performances against Pachuca and RB Salzburg gave fans reason to believe that the next season under Xabi Alonso can be special and the return of injured players only furthers that cause.

Earlier this month, the club recovered the services of Antonio Rudiger after his surgery towards the end of last season.

Eder Militao too is close to returning from his setback and the likes of Ferland Mendy and David Alaba will all return sooner rather than later.

Now, Ramon Alvarez provides an update on another injured star – Eduardo Camavinga – and Alonso’s camp will be delighted with the news.

On the cusp of recovery

As relayed by the Spanish journalist, Camavinga is in very good condition and progressing well in his recovery.

After all, he tore his left adductor muscle in April and missed the remainder of the campaign with the tricky setback.

Now, the player is very close to a return to the field and could join the squad as early as the team’s upcoming game against Juventus. Needless to say, it comes as a massive boost for the new Real Madrid manager.

At this point, it is not decided with certainty if Camavinga will be included against Juventus, but the possibility is also not ruled out.

Alonso will be the party to take the final decision and will likely base his call on what he sees in training.

The new coach has largely preferred setups with an overload in midfield and Cavamvinga, in that sense, could prove to be an important player for the team given his versatility.

Next season, however, the Frenchman will look to move past the inconsistency and regular injures which have halted his progress in recent times.
