The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made a definitive call on the future of breakout talent Gonzalo García.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that the 21-year-old will be going nowhere this summer.

Frontman Gonzalo has of course seen his name suddenly cast into the spotlight across Spain over recent weeks.

This comes after a bout of illness on the part of Kylian Mbappé opened the door for the striker to step into a prominent role at the Club World Cup.

And to say that Gonzalo has since taken advantage of this opportunity would be putting it lightly.

All told, across five appearances at the tournament to date, the Blancos youth product has racked up five direct goal contributions.

And his performances across these outings, it would appear, have already proven of a sufficient standard to convince Xabi Alonso and his staff of Gonazlo’s readiness to contribute this coming season.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Real Madrid won’t listen to any loan or permanent deal proposals for Gonzalo García. He’s expected to stay at the club at this stage, with Xabi Alonso very happy.’
