Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has ruled out the option of coaching Bayern Munich, saying that during the upcoming Champions League tie between the two teams, he will be cheering for Los Blancos.

Zidane recently attended the Miami Grand Prix on Saturday, where he watched the sprint race at the Miami International Autodrome.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen secured pole position for Sunday’s main race, outperforming Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. Following the race, Zidane presented an award to the Dutch driver on the podium.

During the event, Zidane was asked about the possibility of coaching Bayern Munich, to which he said, “No, it will not happen,” as quoted by Madrid Xtra.

“I’m going to watch the game, I will cheer for Real Madrid and hopefully Real Madrid will win. It will be a difficult game,” he added.

It is to be noted that Zidane, 51, has not managed a team since his departure from Real Madrid in 2021.

He has been rumoured to be in consideration for managerial positions at Bayern Munich and Manchester United, but he has not yet held formal discussions with either club.

On the other hand, after France’s loss to Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final, there were rumours that he might take over the French national team.

However, those speculations ended when Didier Deschamps’ contract was extended until June 2026.

As of today, Bayern Munich are on the search for a new head coach to replace Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.

However, the club has faced a series of obstacles in its quest to find the right candidate. Several top names in coaching, including Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick, have turned down the opportunity to lead the team.

As a result, Bayern’s efforts to secure a new manager have been hampered, leaving the club in a challenging position as they seek a strong replacement for Tuchel.
