According to a report from SPORT, William Saliba is unlikely to join Real Madrid in the near future, as the French defender is happy at Arsenal and is not considering leaving before the World Cup.

This means, for now, it seems that any potential move to Madrid is firmly off the table.

Saliba is seen as a key player by both Arsenal and the French national team, and his performances last season only strengthened his status.

While Real Madrid had taken an interest in the centre-back, with his name reportedly discussed within the club’s offices and coaching staff, the timing does not line up. Madrid might want him soon, but the player has no such plans.

Arsenal stand firm on Saliba’s future

Saliba’s contract runs until 2027, and Arsenal’s stance is simple that he is not for sale. Reports suggest the Premier League side has no interest in entertaining offers for their defensive star, regardless of how much Real Madrid are willing to offer.

Furthermore, it is also said that Arsenal are keen on extending Saliba’s deal and are hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.

The club’s optimism is matched by Saliba himself, who is said to be fully focused on continuing his journey in North London.

Madrid exploring other options

With Saliba currently out of reach, Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on other defensive options. Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool is one of the players they are tracking closely.

Unlike Saliba, Konate’s contract ends in 2026, and he has reportedly turned down renewal offers. This could open the door to a future transfer, though for now, no deal is in place.

In short, Saliba is staying put at Arsenal, at least for now and despite Real Madrid’s interest, the defender has made it clear that his future lies in London, not Madrid.
