Real Madrid have almost seemed to take it as a done deal that Alphonso Davies is set to become a free agent in 2025, but recent reports have started to raise questions about this.
As per Relevo, Bayern Munich are still open to an extension for the Canadian wing-back, who is in the last year of his deal at the Canadian club.
‘There are options for him to renew. They exist.’ said the Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl when asked about the possibility of a renewal.
The main issue is that Bayern Munich seem to be hesitant to increase the defender’s wages, after they made this clear during the summer, although their position may have changed in the months since.
It would seem that Davies moving to Real Madrid is still the most likely outcome of this entire transfer saga, although these recent reports indicate there are still plenty of negotiations to be done before we discover where his future lies.
We could be set to see a bidding war of sorts take place over the coming few months as clubs line up to bid for Alphonso Davies’ signature.
