The future of Jonathan Tah will be a hot topic in the transfer market as we slowly approach the summer transfer window.

The German international is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and join another club on a free transfer.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Tah for the longest time. However, the Catalans’ deal to sign the German has stalled in recent weeks, most likely due to finances and an inflated wage bill.

Real Madrid, too, have been lurking in the background, waiting for an opportunity to get their hands on Tah.

However, a recent report from Florian Plettenberg suggests Manchester United, too, have now entered the race to sign Jonathan Tah.

The Premier League giants want to reinforce their ranks in the defensive unit, with the German emerging as the ideal option.

Man United have already started talks with the player’s management, exploring an opportunity to sign the defender on a free transfer.

This might not bode well for Real Madrid, who already have a strong competitor in the form of Barcelona, in the race to sign Tah.

The report adds that the Catalans remain keen on acquiring the services of Tah, who has been linked with a move to Catalonia in the past.

Real Madrid, therefore, have a fight on their hands if they are to sign the Leverkusen star, who has worked with Xabi Alonso over the past two years.

The Spanish giants, therefore, will be hoping to leverage Alonso, the most likely replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, to acquire the services of Tah.

Both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, in fact, will remain involved in the race to sign Jonathan Tah as long as the Barcelona deal is not finalised.
