Niko Kovac (on DAZN): “I’m sweating like I’ve just come out of a sauna. It was tough going for both teams, but the opposition are used to it. We certainly didn’t give our best performance, but that wasn’t possible today. There were too many simple mistakes and things definitely didn’t run smoothly. The important thing was that we won the game. Nothing else matters.”

Gregor Kobel (in the mixed zone): “We can’t concede three goals, especially not like that. On the positive side, we scored four goals. But apart from that, there isn’t much to say. Our positioning wasn’t great. It was similar to the first game: we spent too much time ball watching. We didn’t create enough options. Whoever had the ball usually had a hard time. We put ourselves in a difficult position. Of course, it’s easier when it’s 15 degrees and drizzling. But football is also played in the summer. That’s part of the game. We have to be able to deal with that.”

Felix Nmecha (in the mixed zone): “We didn’t play the way we wanted to, but in a game like this, in this heat, we just have to be satisfied with the win. We have to learn from this game and hopefully do better going forward. Once again we didn’t play as well as we wanted to. We didn’t in the first game either. But we’re trying to do our best, and I think it’s an important win.”

Maximilian Beier (on BVB TV): “It was important that we won here – and that we now put in a good performance against the team from South Korea. We want to win the group.”

Waldemar Anton (in the mixed zone): “We had big plans, but we didn’t get into the game well and had to suffer a bit at times because we made it too easy for our opponents. We were a few paces off. We have to do a better job of securing the spaces in behind. We won a lot of balls and deserved to win in the end.”

Jobe Bellingham (on DAZN): “It was a tough game and an important win against a really good opposition. They can be proud of themselves, especially given the weather conditions. That’s something new for us, something we need to get used to. I’m glad we won, but there’s still a lot to improve, both for me personally and for the team.”
