RBL through to second round of DFB-Pokal after 4-2 win at Sandhausen | OneFootball

RB Leipzig have reached the second round of the DFB-Pokal after a 4-2 win at SV Sandhausen. The hosts started well and took the lead twice in the first half, as Leon Ampadu's early opener was first cancelled out by Yan Diomande. The winger netted his first competitive goal for the Bulls on what was also his competitive debut for the club. Jahn Herrmann then restored Sandhausen's advantage, before Willi Orban headed in to make it 2-2.

The second half saw Sandhausen continue to seek opportunities to catch RBL on the counter-attack, while Ole Werner side sought to exploit gaps in their opponent's backline. Ezechiel Banzuzi then headed the ball over goalkeeper Arthur Lyska to put RBL on the path to victory in the 79th minute. Xavi's late strike (90'+6) then put the game to bed.

In the end, RBL were able to book their tickets to the next round after a hard-fought encounter.
