As rumours about Dani Olmo agreeing a six-year contract with Barcelona continue to gain momentum, RB Leipzig director Rouven Schroder has come out and issued an update on the future of the Spanish attacker.

Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that Olmo had reached an agreement with Barça over a six-year deal until the summer of 2030 while the Catalans were said to have tabled a fresh offer worth €55 million, excluding add-ons.

Despite the growing speculations, though, Schroder insists that RB Leipzig are in no pressure to sell Olmo this summer and are currently waiting for him to return from his vacation.

“Dani has an incredible value for us – as a player and as a person. We are under no pressure to sell him,” said Schroder, as quoted by Philipp Hinze.

“As things stand today, we expect Dani to return to us after his Euro vacation. Everything else remains to be seen,” he added.

Olmo has a contract with Leipzig that runs until the summer of 2027. The deal had a release clause worth €60 million embedded in it, but it expired on July 20.

RB Leipzig, though, are insisting on any interested parties to pay up at least €60 million for the Spanish international this summer.

Olmo is also attracting strong interest from other clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich but seemingly has his heart set on a return to Barcelona – a club he left back in 2014 during his youth football days.

However, with RB Leipzig standing firm on their demands and Barça’s offer seemingly falling below it, an agreement still appears to be some distance away.
