Rangers booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish League Cup with a 4-2 victory over League One side Alloa Athletic on Saturday.
Scorers: Bajrami 13', Fernandez 28', Tavernier 67' (P), Curtis 90' ; Rothwell 25' (OG), Taggart 80'
Nedim Bajrami opened the scoring for the hosts after 13 minutes at Ibrox as he found the top corner with an outstanding effort from the edge of the box.
However, a little over 10 minutes later, the visitors fought back level following an own goal from midfielder Joe Rothwell.
Debutant Emmanuel Fernandez restored Rangers' lead three minutes later as he headed home a cross from a wide free-kick.
Then, in the second half, James Tavernier calmly converted from the penalty spot to score his side's third goal of the evening to put the result beyond doubt.
Or so they thought! Veteran defender Scott Taggart pulled a goal back for Alloa with 10 minutes left to play, creating a nervy end to proceedings at Ibrox.
Normal service did resume right at the death, however, as teenager substitute Findlay Curtis made it 4-2 in the 90th minute.
