Christian Pulisic believes that AC Milan have a ‘great chance’ to tick off a target by finishing in the top eight of the Champions League.
Pulisic is expected to start on the right side of the attacking trident for Milan tonight at the Stadion Maksimir, knowing that a victory (and potentially even a point) will be enough for direct access to the last 16 of the competition.
The American and Rafael Leao have combined for six goals during the first phase already and it is down the flanks that the Rossoneri will look to cause Fabio Cannavaro headaches, the head coach of Dinamo.
Speaking to Milan TV, Pulisic said: “I’m ready for tomorrow. I’m happy to be here in Croatia. This game is crucial for us, it’s a great chance. If we win, we go straight through to the last 16. We’ll finish in the first eight. It’s a great chance.
“I played here with Chelsea, two or three years ago, they’re a good team. It won’t be easy. We’re certain it’ll be a great game, we’ll need to play well.”
After doing the press conference last night alongside the head coach Sergio Conceicao, Pulisic spoke to Sky to further preview the game, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
Is there a chance of Milan going all the way?
“Tomorrow we have a great opportunity, if we win we will be in the top eight: for us this competition is very important and for me it is the best thing there is. We want to win.”
How did you experience the Calabria and Conceicao dispute?
“They solved it later. We have to move forward and now the focus is on tomorrow’s match. The team’s spirit is high after Parma.”
What game do you expect?
“We don’t want up and down, we just want up. I was here two years ago with Chelsea, it’s not easy to play here: we expect a great atmosphere and a good team. It won’t be easy.”
What has changed with Conceicao?
“He brings more intensity, 100%. I think he has changed this spirit a little: it’s important for us, we don’t have much time to train because we play every three days.”
How is Kyle Walker?
“He has integrated very well. He told me that it is not possible to learn Italian and I agree (laughs). He is a great player and will help us a lot.”
