Paris Saint-Germain are facing concerns regarding their goalkeeping situation, with uncertainty surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future. If the club opts to part ways with the 25-year-old, they will need to explore the transfer market for a replacement.

Donnarumma, under contract until 2026, has had his errors over the years and it appears that the Ligue 1 side could be tired of these gaffs and be looking at alternatives for the future.

The Parisians have made it part of their transfer policy to secure young French talent and one pundit believes that PSG need to look inside France’s top flight to find their new No. 1 goalkeeper.

RMC Sport pundit Jérôme Rothen recently stated that LOSC Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has to be on the capital club’s radar should they decide to part ways with Donnarumma.

“The issue is that, for the past three years, in the matches where he needed to make a difference, it’s been the same story—he’s not decisive,” Rothen said (h/t Foot01). “With the status he’s been given and earning €1 million a month, you have to wonder why they haven’t extended his contract. It seems they believe he’s stagnating and not addressing his weaknesses.

“There might be a chance to bring in Lucas Chevalier, and PSG should do everything possible to make that happen. Selling Donnarumma might be the right move, even if it means taking a small financial loss. After all, PSG’s current strategy is to focus on signing the best French talent from the league.”

The Frenchman is drawing interest from other top European clubs. Last month, TBR Football reported that Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been making checks on Chevalier. SPORT reports that Les Dogues have set their goalkeeper’s value at €40 million.
