PSG transfer news: Marquinhos makes his decision on his future!

Despite a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain in May 2023 until 2028, Marquinhos, a 31-year-old central defender and captain, is still the subject of rumors of departure during the transfer market. L’Equipe confirms this Thursday that the Brazilian has made his choice.

“Marquinhos has made a decision. After a time of reflection, while he was able to maintain doubt about a possible final farewell and while he was the subject of lavish approaches (notably from the Gulf), the 31-year-old Brazilian defender has decided to stay at PSG. “Marqui” also knows that he will have to face greater competition for his position, with the planned recruitment of a right-sided central defender who is expected to be Ukrainian Ilya Zabarni (22 years old, Bournemouth).”

A credible statement, and there hasn’t really been any idea of a departure apart from a few rumors. These rumors mostly came from the sports newspaper, anyway. So, it’s possibly the end, without a huge surprise. But at least we should have some peace around captain Marquinhos. Even if we know the media, new agitations can quickly arise.
