Although he is only 16 years of age, FC Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal is proving himself to be one of the best players in the currently underway UEFA EURO 2024. He has helped his Spain side qualify for the knock-out rounds of the tournament, where they will face Georgia in the Round of 16.

His performances with the national team are a continuity of what he has been doing with Barcelona since he made his debut at 15 years of age. Having proven his quality and skills at such a young age against the very top sides in Europe, Barcelona are naturally looking to ensure his continuity at the club for years to come.

This is clear from a report from Mundo Deportivo, which claims that Barcelona understand that PSG are willing to pay as much as €250 million for the Spanish gem, but the Catalans do not consider him for sale under any circumstances and will not enter any negotiations for his sale.

In March, PSG had also made an offer of €200 million for the youngster, which was rejected by Barcelona, and this episode was confirmed by Joan Laporta himself.

Now, the Parisians are again looking to try their luck for the youngster, which goes on to show Yamal’s stature in European football, as PSG see him as the ideal candidate to replace Kylian Mbappe in their squad.

PSG got the better of Barcelona when they were able to activate Neymar’s release clause of €222 million, and this signing remains the record investment made by any club on a single player.

Now, the Parisians are ready to break their own record, but the Catalans are well prepared this time as they have Yamal tied down with a long-term agreement, and have a €1 billion release clause over him.
