Konaté has received an offer to extend his deal with the Premier League champions, but is disappointed with the latest contract proposed to him. The 26-year-old is pushing for a higher base salary to extend his terms with the Merseyside outfit, The Guardian understands. Liverpool want to pen the defender to a new contract, but are insistent that they will not overpay to keep his services.

Konaté is a childhood PSG fan, having grown up in the French capital. Sports Zone report that the UEFA Champions League winners’ dream of a high-quality defensive roster and that the former RB Leipzig defender would be pivotal to that.
