Those in attendance at Paris Saint-Germain’s meeting with Toulouse on Sunday night made use of the opportunity to make their feelings crystal clear with the outbound Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé, for his part, took to the pitch for the final time as a home player at the Parc des Princes a short time ago.

As much, of course, comes as the 25-year-old prepares to bid farewell to his long-time employers.

Having come to the decision not to renew his expiring contract in the summer, Mbappé is all set to take his talents to Spain, with Real Madrid.

With PSG also primed to lift the Ligue 1 trophy on Sunday, a memorable evening for one of world football’s standout performers, in turn, was always likely to be on the cards.

And this, indeed, is precisely what went on to play out in the French capital.

Almost as if written in the stars, Mbappé opened the scoring in his side’s meeting with Toulouse, inside the 10-minute mark in proceedings.

And the ensuing crowd response perfectly summed up the sentiment amongst the PSG faithful when it comes to their departing talisman.

Whilst sections cheered Mbappé on, others loudly booed and jeered, despite their side taking the lead.

A similar situation played out ahead of kick-off, too, as a large tifo, as well as a banner reading “A child from the suburbs of Paris, who became a Paris Saint-Germain legend,” were unveiled.

And yet, upon Mbappé’s name being read aloud by the stadium announcer, boos rained down from the Parc des Princes stands:

Evidently, seven years of his career, hundreds of goals and countless moments of individual brilliance were not enough to satisfy some members of the PSG fanbase…
