Ahead of PSG’s crucial second-leg semifinal against Arsenal, manager Luis Enrique shared his thoughts on the tie between his former club Barcelona and Inter Milan, which will determine the other finalist.
Barça face off against the Italian heavyweights later tonight at the Guiseppe Meazza, after the first leg in Montjuic ended in a 3-3 draw.
Meanwhile, PSG will take on Arsenal in the other semi-final tomorrow in Paris, having taken a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg at the Emirates last week.
During the pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique was asked whether he had a preference between Barça or Inter reaching the final.
In response, the PSG head coach said: “Obviously I have a past, a past I am proud of, and my love for Barcelona will never disappear.”

However, he added that his full focus is on taking PSG to the final, saying: “I only want one objective in these semi-finals: for PSG to be in the final. If we’re not there, we’ll wish the best to the two teams that get there.”
Enrique famously led Barcelona to their last UEFA Champions League title a decade ago in 2014-15, defeating Juventus 3–1 in the final in Berlin, with goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez, and Neymar.
That was also the campaign when the Blaugrana won the historic treble – a feat they can repeat this season, having won the Copa del Rey and holding an advantage in La Liga.
But Hansi Flick & co. must first get past Inter tonight to keep the dream of a treble alive.
