Paris Saint-Germain played their first game without Kylian Mbappé on Friday, securing a 4-1 win over Le Havre at Stade Océane. Ousmane Dembélé explained how the squad will replace Real Marid’s goal-scoring.

The Parisians opened the scoring in the third minute thanks to a goal from Kang-in Lee. However, the reigning Ligue 1 champions wouldn’t score until late in the contest when they recorded three goals.

Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, and Randal Kolo Muani scored to give the Parisians a comfortable win. After the victory, Dembélé spoke about the goal-scoring PSG and stated that to replace Mbappé’s scoring it will take a team effort rather than one person taking the responsibility.

“Physically, I’m still not quite there yet,” Dembélé told DAZN (h/t Sport.fr). “When I came on, I lost possession a few times, but I got back into the flow of things. I’m gradually working on finding my rhythm again.

“Scoring goals is going to be crucial now, especially since we’ve lost someone who used to score a lot. All the attackers will need to step up because we’ve lost a key player.”

PSG are off to a good start this season, and if the first game is a sign of what’s to happen, then it will indeed be a group effort replacing the Real Madrid standout. The question will be whether the team can sustain this type of performance all season and who might be the player that scores clutch goals this campaign.
