City are used to rattling off extensive winning runs to round off a title-winning campaign, and the Cityzens were perfect in April.Pep Guardiola's side endured a bump in the road as they were eliminated from the Champions League on penalties, but that defeat should only enhance their chances of securing an unprecedented fourth-straight Premier League title. The champions recorded emphatic wins against Crystal Palace, Luton Town and Brighton, with their month concluding with a hard-fought three points at Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal matched City's April points tally, but the Gunners played a game extra due to their absence from the FA Cup semi-finals. It was almost a perfect month for the Gunners, who are chasing City in the title race. However, defeat at home to Aston Villa could prove costly. Mikel Arteta's side were otherwise impressive and they bounced back superbly from their home loss to Unai Emery's Villans. Arsenal rounded off the month with back-to-back wins over Chelsea and Tottenham.

It's been a tough campaign for the Magpies, but there are signs of Newcastle ending the season strong. Their form at St. James' Park helped them secure 10 points in April as they thrashed Tottenham and Sheffield United on Tyneside. Newcastle's productive month leaves them with a strong chance of securing European football for next season.

Only four teams have secured more Premier League points than Bournemouth since the Cherries picked up their first win of the league season on Matchday 10. Andoni Iraola's pressing monsters continue to struggle against the league's best, but they've proven proficient at picking up points against sides deemed to be of a similar or inferior quality. Bournemouth beat Palace, Wolves, and a slumping Brighton in April, but were beaten by Aston Villa away from home.

7. Brentford (8pts)

Brentford hardly set the world alight in April, but they've done enough to edge themselves away from serious danger. The Bees started 2024 so poorly, and it looked as if Thomas Frank's side were veering into the dogfight. However, they started April four games unbeaten before they lost at Goodison Park. Now ten points clear of the drop, Brentford are all but safe.

8. Chelsea (8pts)

It was a month which typified Chelsea's 2023/24 inconsistency. You just never know what you're going to get from Mauricio Pochettino's Blues. Chelsea deviate from the sublime to the stupid by the game. In April, Poch's side beat Manchester United in a seven-goal thriller, drew away at bottom dwellers Sheffield United, and thumped Everton at home 6-0 before losing 5-0 at Arsenal. The month then concluded with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw at Villa. Like a box of chocolates.

9. Aston Villa (8pts)
