Let’s dive into the Premier League Matchday 11 predictions.

Premier League Matchday 11 Predictions & Preview

Wolves vs Southampton

Wolves: A heartache. Wolves have been a heartache for their fans. They lost very close games to the best teams in the league. Their schedule was tough, and while their performances were mostly good, the heartache came from not converting these performances into results.

Southampton: inconsistent. The Saints have had some good performances so far but were yet to walk away with any points, with last-minute winners being conceded or poor goals being given away. Then, after these good performances, they would follow up with some awful ones.

Predictions:

Alex’s Prediction: 3-1 Southampton. An emphatic statement win for their season.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-1 Wolves. They get their win against the Saints and get out of the bottom spot.

Brentford vs Bournemouth

Brentford: Relentless. I feel like relentless is a perfect summary of how the Bees conduct themselves on the pitch with a relentless work ethic without the ball, and then when they are on the ball, they attack in waves, suffocating you.

Bournemouth: Joy. The Cherries have been a joy to watch this season. They beat City, and Arsenal, drew against Villa, dominated Chelsea only to waste a penalty and lose on a late goal, and gave Liverpool all they could handle at Anfield even if the result did not reflect that

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 2-2 An even game that will end with the points shared for the two on form teams

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 Bournemouth Bournemouth continues to be a joy to their fans and gives them another win against Brentford.

West Ham vs Everton

West Ham: Sideways. The appointment of Lopetegui was a sideways move from West Ham, who started to dislike Moyes’ footballing style, which isn’t too dissimilar to how Lopetegui plays, and then decided to higher Lopetegui. West Ham has been woeful thus far this season, and they haven’t made any step forward from Moyes. Only sideways.

Everton: Expected. Well, the Toffees are just as everyone expected. A good low-block team who can spring a surprise here and there, beats teams they are supposed to, loses to teams they are supposed to lose to, and they are a nuisance at Goodison.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 3-1 Everton. The Toffees deliver the hammer blow in Lopetegui’s future at West Ham as Dyche sends him packing.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-2. They are better coached than West Ham, but the Hammers have higher individual qualities. This game ends in a draw.

Crystal Palace vs Fulham

Crystal Palace: Underwhelming. The Eagles had enormous heights on their horizon with their performances towards the backend of the 23/24 season; however, their wings looked to have been clipped and are flying much lower than they would have expected.

Fulham: Interesting. Fulham are one of the most interesting teams in the Premier League. They beat teams below their level, and they put in good performances against the better teams, but individual mistakes hurt them. 15 points from 10 games, with their losses coming only to Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa. Fulham will be an interesting team for the rest of the season.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 3-0 Palace. Eagles are finding their form and will start to fly soon.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Fulham. It’s the same result as their previous game. Fulham continue their decent form.

Brighton vs Manchester City

Brighton: Continuity. Brighton has recruited and appointed excellently following the end of Roberto De Zerbi’s era at Brighton. Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton is on the rise, and they won’t stop anyone from continuing on from RDZ’s era.

Manchester City: Underwhelming. The Citizens have been underwhelming this season. They still look at first gear; their performances are far away from what we are used to expecting from them.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 2-1 City. A tight and contested game ends with City taking all the points back to Manchester.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 City. In a game against two excellent teams, City quality springs them to a win. No matter how underwhelming they are, they rarely lose two games in a row.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

Liverpool: Complete. Liverpool have been the most complete team in the first 10 weeks. Low block, they can do it fine. They hurt you on the counter; they can do it fine. They can do it fine by possessing and dominating the ball with high press.

Aston Villa: Powerhouse. The Villa team is a collection of strong players who have bullied their way up the table this season, as epitomised by John Duran an absolutely chaotic forward breaking havoc across the league.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 2-0 Liverpool. A professional and collected win at Anfield for the Merseyside team.

Yassin’s Prediction: 3-2 Villa. Unfortunately for Liverpool, they also play a complete team in Villa and at Villa Park, the Birmingham Lions get the win to get closer to the Reds in the league table.

Manchester United vs Leicester City

Manchester United: Messy. Oh, where should I start? They kept Erik Ten Hag when they shouldn’t. It hampered their season. They are getting a manager who plays three at the back with a squad that has never played it before.

Leicester City: Backwards. Leicester really went backwards with the appointment of Steve Cooper after all the incredible work Maresca did for them and imposing a style of play, and then the ownership decided to rip all that up and go backwards.

We have a longer preview, which you can find here!

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 3-0 United. RVN ending his tenure on a very positive note.

Yassin’s Prediction: 4-1 United. Luckily for Ruud Van Nisterlrooy, he ends his tenure against one of the league’s worst teams and will end it in a win.

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle United

Nottingham Forest: Surprising. It was the biggest surprise in English football this season. Nineteen points, sitting in third place, won at Anfield and drawn at Stamford Bridge. Their schedule toughens up as they play Newcastle, City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Manchester United in 6 of their remaining nine games in the first round.

Newcastle United: unfulfilling. Newcastle sits in 11th place and has one win in five. It’s been a very unfulfilling start for the Magpies, and Eddie Howe, who will certainly start to have some questions asked of him by the owners as they have huge ambitions and I’m unsure whether they can reach those ambitions, under Howe.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 3-1 Forest. Statement win for the rest of the league, showing they really mean business.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Forest. Forest starts the tough part of their schedule with a win against the Magpies.

Tottenham vs Ipswich Town

Tottenham: A pendulum. Tottenham is the definition of a pendulum. They swing from extremely good to extremely bad from game to game and from half to half.

Ipswich Town: Difficult. Has Ipswich found the step-up too big? I think they have, as they are still winless, and their players don’t have the quality they need, bar Liam Delap and Jack Clarke.

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 5-0 Tottenham. Spurs put a spanner in the Tractor Boys’ engine, causing them to halt and succumb to a 5-0 loss.

Yassin’s Prediction: 4-1 Tottenham. They don’t swing this weekend and get an easy win against Ipswich.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Chelsea: Encouraging. The Blues have been encouraging this season. Their performances were good, and progress is apparent in every game despite some setbacks.

Arsenal: Worrying. Arsenal’s regression over the last few games has been a worrying sign for Mikel Arteta and the fanbase. Although they are losing key players, their performances haven’t been at the races yet. Will something click, and they go on a Pep and Man City-style unbeaten run, or will this season be a setback in their long journey?

Predictions

Alex’s Prediction: 3-0 Chelsea. Maresca’s Men pulling out what is starting to become routine in an emphatic and statement 3-0 win.

Yassin’s Prediction: 2-1 Chelsea. With Arsenal in a bad run of form, Chelsea wins at Stamford Bridge to enter the international break on top of their London rivals.
