The Premier League’s Golden Glove race is heating up with two of the leading contenders facing off tonight.

Matz Sels and David Raya will be in opposite goals when Nottingham Forest face Arsenal, with the latter having led the Premier League for clean sheets last season. Sels is aiming to take the accolade this time around, having been central to Forest’s surprise push for Champions League qualification.

It’s a competitive race for the Golden Glove, however, as the league’s top shot-stoppers battle it out.

Here are the current Premier League Golden Glove standings.

Andre Onana – Manchester United (7)

Manchester United might be enduring a miserable campaign, but many of their issues have been at the opposite end. Ruben Amorim’s team have conceded 37 goals this season, as many as Manchester City and just one more than fellow top-four contenders Chelsea and Newcastle.

Andre Onana has seven clean sheets, with only four goalkeepers having managed more. A building block for Amorim to build upon?

Alisson Becker – Liverpool (7)

Alisson Becker also has seven clean sheets, despite missing eight games for Liverpool this season through injury. The Brazilian is regarded as arguably the best goalkeeper in English football and is a two-time winner of the Golden Glove. He first claimed the accolade in 2018/19 before adding a second award in 2021/22.

Dean Henderson – Crystal Palace (8)

Dean Henderson has eight clean sheets this season and has been a big part of Crystal Palace’s recent upturn in form. The Eagles have won five of their last seven Premier League games, including a run of four straight away wins without conceding a goal. That run has placed the 27-year-old into Golden Glove contention.

Jordan Pickford – Everton (9)

Everton’s survival in recent seasons has been built from the back. Jordan Pickford has been a shining light in an otherwise turbulent period for the Toffees.

The England international finished as runner-up for the Golden Glove last season despite Everton’s battle to beat the drop. He’s on track to challenge for the award again this season, having recorded nine shut-outs to date.

David Raya – Arsenal (9)

After an iffy start at Arsenal last season, David Raya regrouped to end the season as an integral part of the side. The Spanish shot-stopper led the league for clean sheets as Arsenal posted the best defensive record in the division.

He became the third Spaniard to win the Golden Glove, after Pepe Reina and David de Gea. No nation has had more Golden Glove winners.

Matz Sels – Nottingham Forest (10)

Matz Sels leads the way and is the only goalkeeper to reach double digits for clean sheets so far this season.

After a patchy record with goalkeeper signings, the Belgian has proven to be a solid solution for Nottingham Forest. He’s been a key part of their stunning season, in which one of the pre-season relegation favourites have mounted a challenge for Champions League qualification. Only three teams have conceded fewer goals than Forest this season.
