Winter signing Daniel Svensson could be set to make his Champions League debut for Borussia Dortmund against Sporting CP on Tuesday night with Ramy Bensebaini sidelined. The Swedish left-back played five minutes in their defeat against Stuttgart at the weekend but Bensebaini struggling with a muscle strain, Svensson could start.

Nico Schlotterbeck is also expected to return to the starting line-up after he was suspended against Stuttgart, meaning the German is available to Niko Kovac on Tuesday night. There could also be a return to the starting squad for Maximilian Beier, who should get the nod ahead of Karim Adeyemi in a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3.

As for Sporting CP, Morten Hjulmand is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards in this season’s competition, while Nuno Santos, Joao Simoes, Pote and Catamo are among those sidelined, while Viktor Gyokeres is expected to return after starting on the bench against Porto.
