‘I’ve brought Azzurra Gallo to the press conference because she’s the youngest in the squad. She’s been on the whole journey with us, it’s her first Scudetto, and she represents the fact that this is everyone’s win. From the first day in America she’s trained like every session was a final, and she represents all those who may not have been as visible, but are fundamental. And her story is all about the future. The synergy, empathy and tolerance that this group has been able to demonstrate is something that cannot be bought: beyond the individual potential, what determined everything was the chemistry that was created. With a strong team you win games, but to win championships you need more. I’d like to thank my staff, who worked with me. I’m really happy because this is a heartfelt victory and it shows that this sport still knows how to be exciting. I knew Massminiliano Canzi was a great professional but over the last few months I discovered the person and have been lucky to get to know him as a friend. It’s a long and unique cycle of thirteen trophies, six Scudetti in eight years – it’s something that deserves due recognition. Our philosophy is to create players and make them grow; many of the girls today have come from the youth sector. Not only that, this year our roster has been full of girls who are fundamental to our project but have also been very good at understanding where they’ve come from, understanding Juve. With this, and thanks to the coach, a fantastic chemistry has been created in the group’.
