Former Premier League footballer Don Hutchinson has said he’s been told Mamadou Sarr has potential to become “world class.”
Chelsea agreed a deal worth £11.9m to sign Sarr from Strasbourg in January and the Frenchman remained on loan for the remainder of the season.
Sarr made 27 appearances in Ligue 1 as Strasbourg qualified for the Conference League, but he will now be playing Champions League football with the Blues.
It’s been reported Sarr has been signed for the first team and the 19-year-old has penned a contract until 2033 at Stamford Bridge.
Sarr is set to make his debut for Chelsea at the Club World Cup and supporters could see him in action in Chelsea’s opening game against Los Angeles FC on June 16th.
Liam Rosenior who managed Sarr last season described his performances as “scary” and it’s clear the teenager has a lot of talent.

Andrey Santos who played with Sarr last season admitted he loved the defender and it will be interesting to see where he fits in.
Chelsea have an array of centre backs, but Hutchinson has provided some insight on Sarr and claims he’s been told he could be one of the very best.
“A friend of mine Leroy Rosenior told me his son Liam [Sarr’s coach at Strasbourg] told him that this kid could be the very, very best. He said he’s got potential to be world class,” he told ESPN as cited on X.com.
Whilst Sarr has arrived Chelsea are still looking to bring another centre back in and have once again been linked with Marc Guehi.
