PL club want to make a minimum of £22.5m profit on defender after learning of Man United interest

After learning of interest from clubs in the Premier League, Bournemouth are adamant about making any deal for Milos Kerkez as tricky as possible this summer.

Numerous reports have already relayed Manchester United’s potential pursuit of the player, with the left-back position in dire need of strengthening after last season’s debilitating injury crisis left Erik ten Hag with no senior options.

Luke Shaw, yet again, oversaw an injury-ridden season at Old Trafford. He was limited to just 15 appearances in all competitions, and despite being called up to represent England at the Euros, he is yet to feature for his nation due to the persistent issue.

Similarly, Tyrell Malacia sustained a serious knee complaint on the final day of the 2022/2023 campaign that ruled him out of the entirety of the subsequent season. He underwent two surgeries to try and correct the damage, so there are hopes that he can make his long-awaited return for the side’s pre-season tour.

Sofyan Amrabat, Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were all left deputising for the sidelined duo during their prolonged absences.

United mull over Kerkez pursuit

Therefore, a left-back will be signed in the coming months, and Kerkez is thought to be high on INEOS’ shortlist.

The 20-year-old signed for Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023 for a reported £15.5 million. He went on to play an integral role throughout his maiden term in England, starting 22 matches as the Cherries recorded their highest-ever Premier League points tally (48).

Now, if their hands are forced into sanctioning his exit, Bournemouth will reportedly demand a fee between £38m to £42m, as per Fabrizio Romano in his Daily Briefing.

Kerkez is currently unable to partake in any negotiations himself due to his involvement with Hungary at Euro 2024.
