Manchester United registered an impressive 3-2 Premier League win against Ipswich Town with 10 men last night.
The Red Devils were favourites to beat the Tractor Boys, but they made the worst possible start with a defensive error.
Patrick Dorgu was caught unaware of Andre Onana’s positioning. His poor backpass gifted Jaden Philogene with an easy tap-in.
United got into the lead through an own goal and Matthijs de Ligt, but Dorgu was sent off for a nasty tackle in the 43rd minute.
Alejandro Garnacho was sacrificed to bring on defender Noussair Mazraoui, and the Argentine certainly did not look pleased by the decision.
Philogene equalised before the break from an Onana blunder, but Harry Maguire saved his blushes with a winning header in the 47th minute.
Following the game, Garnacho’s substitution became a topic of interest in the press conference.
Garnacho went straight through the Old Trafford tunnel after being taken off. Manager Ruben Amorim acknowledged that he would speak with him.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils graduate has broken his silence on Instagram stories with an image unlikely to impress the Portuguese one bit.
He posted a picture of him holding his nose shortly after United’s hard-fought 3-2 win over Ipswich.

United were open to parting ways with Garnacho during the last transfer window. Napoli were interested in signing him but could not agree on personal terms with the attacker.
The 20-year-old has been a regular part of Amorim’s plans despite this. He has produced some lively performances including one against Everton off the bench last weekend.
Garnacho deservedly got the nod to start yesterday but was sacrificed for a defender after Dorgu’s red card. Ideally, Amorim should have taken off Rasmus Hojlund instead.
The Dane played 67 minutes but managed just five passes and 12 touches with no shots on goal. Garnacho had 26 touches and 15 passes in the opening half itself.
Still, Garnacho’s Instagram update may not go well with Amorim. The 40-year-old wants proper discipline and conduct on and off the field. Garnacho’s future could be uncertain at United.
We won’t be surprised if United actively look to sell him this summer. Garnacho’s mixed relationship with Amorim could also urge him to move on during the next transfer window.
