The shortlist for the 2024/25 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award has been announced.
The award is regarded as the highest individual honour in English football, voted for by rival players across the division.
Mohamed Salah headlines the six-player list and is the overwhelming favourite to win the award. The Liverpool winger led the Premier League for goals and assists in 2024/25, as the Reds won the title under Arne Slot.
His 47 goal involvements set a new record for a 38-game Premier League season. If successful, Salah will become the first player to win the PFA Player of the Year award three times, after previous successes in 2017/18 and 2021/22. He has already been named FWA Footballer of the Year.
Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister is also on a shortlist dominated by midfielders. Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes are each nominated.
Alexander Isak is another up for the award after scoring 23 league goals for Newcastle United. The Swedish striker became the first Newcastle player to score 20+ league goals in consecutive Premier League seasons.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who won the 2023/24 PFA Young Player of the Year award, is also included.
The winner of the award will be announced at the PFA awards, which will be held in Manchester on August 19th.
