Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Monday spoken out on the battle for the starting gloves between the posts for his side once more.
This comes amid confirmation that no change is planned moving forward.
Barcelona’s no.1 spot is of course currently being occupied by Iñaki Peña, amid the long-term injury absence of Marc-André ter Stegen.
The more experienced Wojciech Szczęsny, though, is ready and waiting on the sideline, no doubt itching for a chance to prove his worth to the Blaugrana faithful.
The Pole was brought in as an emergency free agent signing back in early October, but is yet to be afforded a single minute of competitive playing time.
Speaking to the media ahead of the hectic upcoming festive period, the subject of the situation between the posts in his squad was, in turn, put to the aforementioned Hansi Flick once more.
And, on the eve of Barcelona’s La Liga trip to RCD Mallorca, the club’s headmaster went on to reiterate:
“As I have said before, Iñaki Peña is the starter and things will continue like this.”
