Fabio Pecchia is ‘not satisfied with the result’ after a 2-2 draw away to Juventus, because Parma were leading twice and ending matches with regrets is getting ‘frustrating.’

The Ducali have only managed one Serie A victory in 10 rounds this season since winning the Serie B title to earn promotion.

They came so close to success at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin, twice taking the lead through Enrico Delprato and Simon Sohm, but both times Weston McKennie and Tim Weah got Juve back into it.

“I am not satisfied with the result here,” Pecchia told Sky Sport Italia.

“We came here eager to play our game and fight it out with a strong team in a wonderful stadium. We knew that we’d have to do a lot of tough defensive work, but after a match like that, we emerge with the right sense of anger.”

There was even a huge scare with the last kick of the game, Zion Suzuki fumbling a cross and Delprato performing a goal-line clearance on Kenan Yildiz.

“We created the chances to score goals and bring home the result, so we deserved more. It was inevitable that Juve would pin us back at some points, but we also created those opportunities on the counter-attack to win. It’s frustrating, we have to take those chances.”

This was Parma’s fourth consecutive Serie A stalemate, earned against Bologna, Como, Empoli and Juventus.

“We have had some very good performances, but then dips in concentration saw us punished, for example against Udinese and Cagliari,” continued Pecchia.

“I maintain our approach has the right idea, we want to play our football, but the problem is increasingly we have regrets at the final whistle that we didn’t win.

“I realise people think Parma are most dangerous on the counter-attack, but our goals are created with team moves too. We need to do that in order to attack the space.

“It’s kind of a paradox that Parma came to Turin and conceded on the counter from Juventus, but I want the team to take risks.”

There was a blow for Pecchia when Hernani came on at half-time and then limped off with a muscular issue.

“I knew that Juve would fight back in the second half and Sohm gave us the option of not just keeping the ball, but also going on the counter. I thought that with Hernani we could defend with the ball and not just chasing Juve shadows.”
